CRESPIGNY / CHAMPION
I was able to find a relative on the Vivian side, Deborah Hinton, who lives in Cornwall and is a big fan of Sir Richard Hussey Vivian- he had a very illustrious career, leading, along with Vandaleur, the cavalry charge at Waterloo; he would have been well known to Wellington. His wife Eliza was nine years younger, so when they married in 1804, it was an elopment to Gretna Green as she was only 20.
Researching Crespigny or Champion de Crespigny led quickly to the name being Huguenot in origin, and as it was an unusual name some generations were found quite quickly. There is however a lot of fleshing out to be done, as lots of generations appear to have only one child, which wont be true, so this page will get altered as time goes by. Below are the details of the 13 generations in direct line of ascent.
