ROWLEY
ROWLEY goes back to Shropshire and it would seem can be traced back to William De ROULOWE who, or whose ancestor, came over to England with William the Conqueror. We can assume that the name changed from De ROULOWE to ROWLEY once surnames became more established as the family became more settled.

John ROWLEY (b Newton, d 1530) married Agnes and they had three children: William, Joan, Humphrey.
William ROWLEY (d1565 Worfield, Shropshire) had one son John
John ROWLEY (ca 1540- 1592) married Agnes and they had one son Peter
Peter ROWLEY ( - 1617) in 1586 married Mary BARRETT at Worfield and they had four sons: John, William, George, Isaac.
Isaac ROWLEY ( -abt 1626) in abt 1612 married Mary (1573- 1640) and they had four children: Roger, Anne, Judith, Dorothy.
Roger ROWLEY (1616- ) in abt 1642 married Martha and they had three children: William, Martha, Isaac
William ROWLEY (1643- abt 1704) on 12 March 1681 married Elizabeth BALDWIN (abt 1655- ) and they had ten children: William, Thomas, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Anne, Mary, Frances, Barbara, Charles and James.
William ROWLEY (ca 1690- 1768) on 1st Oct 1725 in Dublin married Arabella DAWSON (abt 1694- 1784) and they had eight children: Thomas, Joshua, Clotworthy, Arabella, William, Dorothy, Mary Frances and Barbara.
Joshua ROWLEY (1730- 1790) on 18 April 1759 married Sarah BURTON (1734- 1812) and they had nine children: Sarah, William Philadelphia, Bartholomew Samuel, Arabella, Joshua, Charles, George and Edward.
Charles ROWLEY (1770-1845) on 7th Dec 1797 married Elizabeth KING (xxxx- 1838) and they had seven children: Charles, George, Richard Freeman, Robert Hibbert Bartholomew, Louisa Burton, Elizabeth Sophia and Burton.
George ROWLEY (1805- 1848) on 13th Apr 1830 in Bombay married Emily Isabella HONNER (1810- 1896) and they had five children: Blanche Caroline, Emilie Elizabeth Burton, Florence Grosvenor, Louisa Sophia Isabella and George Charles Erskine.
Florence Grosvenor ROWLEY (1839-1873) on 18 June 1861 married John Cranch Walker VIVIAN (1818-1879). They had three children: Sybil Agnes, Violet Jane Henrietta and Florence Adeline.
