BRAITHWAITE
This name, from our family perspective, seems to emanate from the area around Kendal in Cumbria, including the Lake District. Other families in the same area married into the BRAITHWAITES and these include WILSON and BENSON. Originally BRAITHWAITE was probably Norse, and most commonly occurs around Cumbria and Yorkshire.
Currently there are only 34 people surnamed BRAITHWAITE on this family, tree, but this is being added to, as are to the 13 BENSONs and 97 WILSONs on it.
The BRAITHWAITEs in their descent marry into the LLOYD and then the FOX families, so form part of the backbone of Quaker descent in the family. Six generations are listed below and the first five are shown in the tree diagram.
